“Pride beats Corona”

28th June 2020, Ludhiana, Punjab:

The youngsters of Punjab successfully organised one of India’s first online Pride Parade on instagram and Facebook to celebrate the Pride Month. Project Kushal Society and Pride Amritsar are two organisations who have been actively working on creating awareness regarding LGBTQ+ Rights for the last two years. Last year, they organised Punjab’s first ever Pride Parade. This year, due to spread of Corona Virus and government restrictions, the organisation decided to shift the parade “online”. The three-hour long virtual event included performances and awareness sessions by over 10 talented individuals who perform live, and was attended by over 2000 followers. Mohak Thukral, Govind Sharma, Rushil Behl, Navika Jindal from Project Kushal Society, and Ridham Chadha and Ramit Seth from Pride Amritsar, were the organisers of this successful virtual event.
