Two vehicle thieves arrested

Ludhiana, May 27

The police have arrested two members of a vehicle lifters’ gang. The two suspects, Gautam Kumar, alias Guggi, a fruit vendor, and Suraj Thapa, a native of Nepal, who was an employee of a card box factory, were arrested at a naka in New Moti Nagar area today. Presently, both were residing at Baba Geja Jain Colony.

The police recovered two Hero Splendour motor cycles and four Activa scooters (all without number plates), which were stolen from different places in the city.

Inspector Parveen Kumar, in-charge, crime branch-3, said the suspects confessed to have lifted two-wheelers from different places like Sector 32 on Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road, Gole Market in Focal Point, Moti Nagar, CMC Chowk, Basti Jodhewal Chowk and Chaura Bazar.

After registering a case, the suspects were produced before a magistrate for obtaining police custody for further investigation.
