Red Cross volunteers of GCG Ludhiana visited flood-affected villages

A group of Youth Red cross volunteers of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana visited the flood-affected villages near Phillaur under the guidance of Associate Professor and Incharge Red Cross, Ms. Satveer Kaur.

The team lead by Chetna and Pavanjyot Kaur interacted with the residents of Bhoewala village. The volunteers distributed Ration items like packets of daal, atta, rice, tea leaves, sugar, namkeen, oil and biscuits. Some woollen clothes, soaps, dettol, sanitary napkins and footwear were also given to the affected poor people.

The team collected the information about their life status and the problems being faced by them. The life is turning to normal but the victims need more help.

The village Sarpanch Mrs Jasbir Kaur thanked the college visiting team and helped in identifying the poorest families. The Volunteers promised to do whatever they can for the victims.

Later on they went to some other cottages /Juggies near the river side to provide helping hand. Finally they spent quality time with kids in orphanage Home/Anath Ashram on GT Road near Phillaur. Eatables and Articles were shared with the inmates.
