Open firing in Kharar; Planned to steal fortuner

Yesterday late night, three miscreants attempted to take away Fortuner vehicle from a Mohali resident ending up injuring him. As per the information, Vir Inder Pal Singh, a resident of Mohali and retired Indian Air Force official, runs an IELTS and study visa in Kurali. While returning home, he was attacked by three unidentified miscreants who were aiming for his Fortuner.

In his statement, the victim revealed that one person had a knife and another had a gun. On threatening, one of the accused fired three shots in the air but ran away when a tiff began. In order to protect himself, the victim fought with the group of three when one stabbed him with a knife in his leg. Post the fight, all three of them managed to escape the scene towards Kharar bus stand.

Vir Inder Pal Singh informed his friends about the incident and himself drove to Max Hospital for his treatment. The victim’s right leg was injured due to stabbing and his treatment is going on. The police registered a case under Sections 394 and 34 of the IPC and under the  Arms Act against the three miscreants. Probing the location, they also found three empty and live cartridges. however, the CCTV footage is still awaited.
