Nodal complaint centres to ensure 24×7 power supply



The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has set up nodal complaint centres at all divisional offices in Central Zone in a bid to provide relief to consumers for registration of complaints with regard to disruption in power supply. Complaints of the consumers regarding disruption in power supply soar during peak summer and paddy sowing season when the demand for electricity increases.

PSPCL engineer-in-chief (Central Zone) Daljit Inderpal Singh Grewal said even though the complaint booking centre at phone number 1912 as well as SMS facility, web service and consumer app were already available for booking of complaints, due to spurt in the number of complaints, at times, it became difficult for the consumers to register complaints on 1912 due to congestion. This, in turn, took more time in booking of complaints and its rectification.

“We have set up nodal complaint centres at division level and consumers could make calls on these numbers for booking of complaints. Instructions have been issued to all field officers to make all-out efforts for rectification of faults in minimum possible time,” said Grewal. The PSPCL was also in the process of making another toll free number operational in the next few days where the consumers could just give a missed call from their registered mobile number, he added. — TNS
