Ludhiana’s steel mill was robbed by four masked men who barged the office in the afternoon. As per the information, four miscreants barged the office around 2:30 pm, tied up the workers and fled with Rs 7Lakh within 6 minutes.

Post the incident, Division Number 6 police and the CIA-1 reached the location and started their investigation. The ACP quoted: “The mill is at Kanganwal area where one of the offices is situated at the inside lane of the Gill Road. Two workers, Shyam Lal and Angrej Singh, were at the office. Meanwhile, another person Satvir Singh came to handover a cheque. Around 2.30 pm, four masked assailants came on two bikes and barged into the office and pointed a gun at the workers. They then tied the three workers with a chair using a tape. The accused then frisked the drawer and escaped with Rs 7 lakh cash.”

As soon as the robbers left the place, the workers set themselves free and called the owner Varun Goyal.

Assistant commissioner of police said: “During the introductory interrogation, the police found that cash payment was not received at this office. Satvir Singh also came there to handover a cheque. However, on Friday afternoon, cash payment was received and the robbery was executed after two hours.”

After investigation, it is suspected that the robbery was a pre-planned strategy that landed the owner into deep losses. However, robbers are still out in the open and the police has registered a case against them under Sections of 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft), 454 (trespassing), 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
