Elderly man jumps in front of train; Ends his life

A 50-year-old man committed suicide on Thursday by jumping in front of the train near Dhandari Kalan railway station. The incident took place early in the morning when an elderly man jumped in front of Amritsar bound superfast train and ended his life. Investigation officer Manjit Singh, assistant sub-inspector at the government railway police, Ludhiana, said that they received information in the wee hours of the day after the victim committed suicide. He added: “It is difficult to identify the deceased as the belongings from his pocket are not enough.” Post preliminary investigation, the police is putting their efforts to identify the deceased and send his mortal remains to his family.

Man lost his life as paraglider break down mid-way in Kullu, Himachal

Paragliding is one of the tasks in every person’s bucket list. But, who knew this person of Chennai will have to suffer a mishap during paragliding. Happened in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh,  a Chennai-based man Arvind fell off the paraglider and died on the spot.

According to the information, Arvind was paragliding in the Dobhi area of Kullu where he fell from a paraglider. The police said that his paraglider was malfunctioned and he tied the belt of the harness somewhat loose. The victim died on the spot whereas the pilot Haru Ram received some injuries and is being treated at the local hospital.

Gaurav Singh, SP of Kullu has registered an FIR under section 336 and 304 of IPC on the statement of the deceased person’s wife Preeti, post the accident.

2 Road Accidents, 2 people die on the spot

Accidents have become a normal day to day affair in the city. Heavy traffic jams, constructions and rash driving has increased the number of accidents in the city. Two accident cases came up in the city recently. 

The first incident happened on Saturday night, where a speeding car hit a scooter killing a 50-year-old man and injuring another. The incident happened near Sangam Palace, Rahon Raod. The duo has been identified as Mangat Singh, 50, of Mangli Tanda village and his son Amrit Singh, 25. They both were factory workers and were returning after work. 

SHO, Inspector Kulwant Singh of Meharban Police Station told that 50-year-old was sitting at the back while 25-year-old Amrit Singh was riding the two-wheeler. At around 9:45 pm when they reached near Sangam Palace, Rahon Road, a Maruti Swift Dzire hit their bike. Both of them fell on the road. The father died on the spot whereas the son had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. 

The accused has been identified as Ram Singh of Golden colony, Rahon road. He was caught by the passers-by as he tried to escape. A case has been registered against him under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bentley carrying groom explodes outside Lodhi club road in Ludhiana

An explosion took place in a Bentley car which had a groom sitting in it. The explosion took place near Lodhi club road. As per Manjeet Singh, his son Prabjpt was driving the car. The groom Minkel, Prabhjot’s brother-in-law eas sitting at the back. Suddenly near Lodi club, a strange smoke started coming out. Just a few seconds later, there was a blast and the people sitting inside came out immediately. Probhjot is a resident of Model Town.

The back seat of the car was badly burnt but fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
