Complainant recorded statement in Dakha assault case



Saudagar Singh, the complainant who is seeking action against cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu recorded his statement on Tuesday in the local court. The next date fixed for hearing is November 29.

Saudagar Singh’s son, a Congress worker from Dakha, Gursewak Singh Gora, was arrested by police after a fight broke out between Congress workers outside the candidate’s office. After Gora was taken into custody, his father filed a complaint against Bharat Bhushan Ashu. Gora has recorded his statement in the case.

Saudagar Singh alleged that Ashu indulged in beating and tossing of the turban of Gora during Dakha bypolls election campaigning. He said that Ashu reportedly mistreated him and removed off his turban.

However, later Gora was booked by Dakha police under various sections of IPC. These include 379-B (snatching), 341 (wrongful restraint),323 (voluntarily causing hurt),506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
