City Centre hearing rescheduled

Began in 2003, the City Centre project was launched in Ludhiana which included shopping malls, multiplexes, residential apartments and a helipad under one roof. The project came into the attention in March 2007 Punjab Vigilance Bureau registered an FIR against Captain Amarinder Singh for patronising and abetting dilution in several terms and conditions of the project to benefit a Delhi-based private limited company.

Since 2007, this Rs 1,144 crore Ludhiana City Centre is halted and arguments began at the court of sessions. On Monday, the court of sessions judge Gurbir Singh adjourned the hearing and gave the next date for the same. Post the arguments from both sides, Judge announced the postponement of hearing till October 30.

Being one of the top issues prevailing in the city, the hope still stands that soon judgement will pass and this massive dream project will come to reality.
