2 Road Accidents, 2 people die on the spot

Accidents have become a normal day to day affair in the city. Heavy traffic jams, constructions and rash driving has increased the number of accidents in the city. Two accident cases came up in the city recently. 

The first incident happened on Saturday night, where a speeding car hit a scooter killing a 50-year-old man and injuring another. The incident happened near Sangam Palace, Rahon Raod. The duo has been identified as Mangat Singh, 50, of Mangli Tanda village and his son Amrit Singh, 25. They both were factory workers and were returning after work. 

SHO, Inspector Kulwant Singh of Meharban Police Station told that 50-year-old was sitting at the back while 25-year-old Amrit Singh was riding the two-wheeler. At around 9:45 pm when they reached near Sangam Palace, Rahon Road, a Maruti Swift Dzire hit their bike. Both of them fell on the road. The father died on the spot whereas the son had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. 

The accused has been identified as Ram Singh of Golden colony, Rahon road. He was caught by the passers-by as he tried to escape. A case has been registered against him under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
